Lunches in Schools

Te Puna Oranga o Otaki provide healthy school lunches to several of our local Kura, these are prepared within the Ministry of Health guidelines for healthier lunches.

For some learners, a school lunch may be their main meal of the day or the only meal where they eat vegetables and wholegrains. Our meals are prepared using fresh nutritious ingredients, our menu is inclusive, diverse and accommodates for special dietary requirements.

Our team of 10 staff prepare 1100 lunches a day across two kitchens and cater for the following learning facilities.

  • Otaki Primary School
  • Otaki College
  • Waitohu Primary School
  • Hato Petera Kaniera/St Peter Chanel School
  • Te Kura Kaupapa Māori o Te Rito
  • Te Kakano o te Kura Kohanga Reo &
  • Te Kohanga Reo o Raukawa

Along with the lunches our team also prepare frozen meals for local Kaumātua, presently 80 – 100 meals per week are delivered to their homes.
