Oranga Ōtaki

Oranga Ōtaki GP Clinic opened its doors to the Ōtaki community on 11th November 2024. This new general practice operates with a holistic lens, grounded in kaupapa Māori, to provide care for those in need. We warmly encourage unenrolled whānau or those seeking healthcare within a Māori framework to get enrolled and experience our whānau-centered approach to wellbeing. We are open Monday to Friday 9.15am-4.30pm, excluding public holidays.

Services

Te Puna Oranga o Ōtaki offers Well Child Tamariki Ora services to all pēpi, tamariki and their whānau living in Ōtaki. Please note enrolment for this service is separate to enrolling with our Oranga Ōtaki GP services. Once enrolled, our Registered Nurse will:

Immunisations – Tuku awhikiri

Immunisation is a great way to protect the hauora of you and your whānau. We offer all immunisations from childhood vaccines to adult boosters. Our highly skilled vaccinator delivers high-quality care with a focus on prevention and protection. Join us in keeping our whānau healthy and strong. No appointment needed, simply come on in during our vaccination clinics.

Influenza Vaccine Eligibility Criteria for free seasonal influenza vaccination

The flu vaccine is free for people at higher risk of getting very sick, including:

  • People aged 65 and over
  • People aged 6 months and over who have a long term medical – condition like diabetes, asthma, or a heart condition
  • Pregnant people (any trimester)
  • Tamariki (children) aged 4 years and under who have been hospitalised for respiratory illness, or have a history of significant respiratory illness
  • People with mental health conditions, including schizophrenia, major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, or schizoaffective disorder
  • People who are currently accessing secondary or tertiary mental health and addiction services.

The funded flu vaccine for tamariki and adults (6 months of age and over) available in Aotearoa New Zealand is called Influvac Tetra.

Maternity Services

At our Mauri Ora clinic we now offer maternity services. If you are pregnant and not sure of your next steps or are wanting some extra support, come in and see Jade our registered midwife. She can refer you for an ultrasound scan, antenatal blood tests and organise a prescription for folic acid and iodine, alongside connecting you with a midwife for your pregnancy journey. We can support wāhine with contraception options.
